November, for me, has typically played host to NaNoWriMo, a wicked writing challenge that results in 50,000 words of fiction in 30 days. I was getting geared up and ready to go for this year when I realized…
How the heck am I going to write 2000 words a day with a newborn at home?
I could find the time, I’m sure. A few words dashed off on my phone during feedings, a couple hundred with each nap time. But I get so absorbed, so focused each November, that everything else falls by the wayside. Say goodbye to laundry, dishes, TV watching and outings just for fun. Every waking moment would be spent dreaming of plot twists and character traits. And while I love it, and relish the pressure and the mad frenzy of words, I knew that this November was not the time to take on such a daunting project.
But I also knew that I couldn’t let a November go by without writing something. So I’m devoting this month to Baking&Babies. I’ll be working on blog content, layout, photos, social media and a whole host of other improvements.
That being said, I need your help. In the comments below, or by email at bakingandbabiesblog (at) gmail (dot) com, give me your feedback. What articles would you like to read? What topics can I cover? Do you have a great logo idea, or a passion for graphic design (and would like to trade for advertising space, a written review/promotion, or a ton of baked goods?) Just let me know- I’m looking to make Baking&Babies much more than the amateur personal blog it was when I started 2 years ago.
Thanks in advance, dear readers!
