Monkeying Around

Man oh man, where have I been the last week?

Long and complicated story, including my little sister winding up in the hospital for 4 days, and nearly quitting my job eight times (a day). But we don’t talk about our jobs on the Internet, now do we?

Updates? Sure, I’ll oblige you, my wonderful audience (of what…two people? Oh dear).

The OPK strips that I was using from Amazon DID work…I just ovulated quite a bit later than I was expecting. At CD 17 I got a test that was ridiculously positive, so J and I…well, you know.

The next morning, my temperature spiked like nobody’s business, and stayed elevated, so we definitely timed…things…right.

Now I’m just sitting around, waiting and waiting for the next 10 days of my life to fly by. I’m sitting at 7DPO, and my symptoms are a surprising lack of symptoms. Same as always. I’m bloated, sure, and my face is breaking out like it did when I was 14, but there’s nothing new or notable to remark about. Except the irritability. Seriously…I’m so angry and ticked off by the smallest things…but only at work. Obviously I don’t let it interfere with my job performance, but I feel like I have a wicked case of Tourettes’ in my head.
Maybe its just PMS early?

It was J’s birthday this week, so I made something that I find AWESOME. And indulgent. And, surprisingly, NOT CHOCOLATE.

You’re welcome.

Birthday Monkey Bread

4 tubes biscuit dough
1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
3 tsp cinnamon

Grease or spray a bundt pan WELL. Mix together white sugar and cinnamon. Open tubes of biscuit dough and cut each biscuit in half. Roll these into balls and roll in white sugar mixture. Pack into bundt pan – not too tightly, because they will expand.
In a small saucepan, melt together butter and brown sugar. Let come to a boil, and boil for 1 minute. Take off the heat and pour all over the rolled balls.
Bake in a 350-degree oven for about 35 minutes, slightly longer if the middle is still doughy.
Turn out onto serving plate, and devour immediately. Or, you know, wait 10 minutes for it to set, and then do the same.
